Terms of Service, Refund Policy & Privacy

Official terms and policies governing the Hired Crew platform (hiredcrew.com) and remote contractor network in the United Arab Emirates.

1. Terms of Service

By creating an application or registering an account on hiredcrew.com (“Hired Crew”, “we”, “our”), you agree to abide by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“Contractor”, “Specialist”, “Applicant”) and Hired Crew Portal FZ-LLC.

1.1 Nature of Engagement

Hired Crew operates a curated remote talent network connecting subject-matter specialists with assignment briefs, market research, content creation, and technical drafting in the UAE. Engagement with Hired Crew is that of an Independent Contractor. Acceptance into the crew network does not constitute an offer of direct employment, a sponsorship of UAE residence visas, or a labor contract under the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), unless specifically executed in a separate, formal contract.

1.2 Remote Work Execution

All work is executed 100% remotely. Contractors are responsible for providing their own computing equipment, secure internet connectivity, and suitable remote workspace. Contractors retain flexibility in scheduling their working hours, with standard full-time expectations calibrated at 8 to 10 hours daily for members aiming for the 2,000 to 5,000 AED monthly earning tier.

1.3 Deliverables & Quality Standards

  • All submitted work must be 100% original, accurate, and free from unauthorized AI generation or plagiarism.
  • Proper academic and industry referencing standards (e.g., APA, Harvard, IEEE, MLA) must be rigorously applied as specified in each brief.
  • Revisions requested by project coordinators must be completed within 24 to 48 hours without additional charge if within the original brief scope.

2. Onboarding & Credential Verification Fee (100 AED)

To maintain rigorous quality standards for our corporate and institutional clients in the UAE, an upfront onboarding and verification fee of 100 AED (One Hundred United Arab Emirates Dirhams) is required upon application.

This one-time fee compensates our administrative and verification team for:

  • Manual identity and background verification.
  • Evaluation of academic transcripts, degrees, and past writing samples.
  • Provisioning of your secure personal Member Portal on hiredcrew.com.
  • Dedicated project coordinator assignment and direct WhatsApp/Email dispatch setup.

Payments are securely processed via Stripe. No credit card details are stored directly on our servers.

3. Refund & Cancellation Policy

Hired Crew is committed to complete transparency and customer satisfaction in accordance with Stripe merchant guidelines and UAE consumer protection laws.

3.1 Eligibility for 100% Refund

You are entitled to a full 100% refund of the 100 AED onboarding fee under the following conditions:

  • Review Delay: If our evaluation team fails to review your application and update your profile status within 14 calendar days from the payment date.
  • Accidental Duplicate Charge: If a technical glitch results in multiple Stripe charges for a single application ID.
  • Cancellation Before Review: If you request cancellation in writing within 24 hours of submission prior to any credential verification work commencing.

3.2 Non-Refundable Conditions

The 100 AED fee is non-refundable once:

  • Our verification team has completed the manual evaluation of your credentials and writing sample, or
  • An application has been reviewed and a coordinator interview has been scheduled, or
  • An applicant submits fraudulent documents, falsified academic credentials, or plagiarized samples.

3.3 How to Request a Refund

To submit a refund request, email our billing department at support@hiredcrew.com with:

  1. Your Full Name and Registered Email Address
  2. Your Application ID (e.g., HC-9482)
  3. Stripe Payment Receipt or Transaction ID
  4. Reason for refund request

Approved refunds will be processed via Stripe within 3 to 5 business days and will automatically post back to the original card used during checkout (depending on your card issuer’s processing time, typically 5–10 days).

4. Privacy & Data Protection Policy

Hired Crew respects your personal data privacy in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection (PDPL) and international data protection standards.

4.1 Information Collected

When you apply or use Hired Crew, we collect:

  • Contact Information: Full name, email address, WhatsApp/mobile number, UAE emirate of residence.
  • Professional Credentials: Academic qualifications, subject specializations, sample writings, portfolio links.
  • Financial Information: Payment confirmation from Stripe (we do not store full card numbers). UAE bank IBAN/account details for earning disbursements upon contract signing.

4.2 Purpose of Processing

Your data is used solely to assess your suitability for remote assignments, verify identity, facilitate project coordinator communications, and disburse AED earnings. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third-party marketing companies.

4.3 Data Security

All data transmitted between your browser and our platform is encrypted via TLS 1.3. Payment card information is handled exclusively by Stripe, a certified PCI-DSS Level 1 Service Provider.
